The aim of Triskele Recovery is to provide a space for people to connect with other like-minded people who are recovering from addiction.
Welcome, it is SO good to have you here...
I’m here to share everything I’ve learnt over the years, in my journey of recovery.
My hope is that here, you’ll find the support and resources you need to enable you to live a life free from horrors of drug addiction, or any other problem related to addiction, such as:
* Trauma (cPTSD)
* Relationship problems
* Self-esteem issues
* Childhood victim of violence
* The stigma of being a woman drug addict
* Adult ADHD
All the above are issues I myself have had to live with, and recover from...I have also worked extensively with others' too.
Who am I…?
This question almost becomes stuck in my throat…who am I…
I am Suzanne…I am a woman…I matter…I exist…I have a voice; an opinion; a right.
I’m a 50 yr old woman in recovery from addiction.
My using spanned virtually all my adult life; with bouts of clean-time sprinkled here and there. The longest being 12 years.
...Yes I am clean now...and I have the most amazing life and have done for some now.
What gives me the right to think I can help you?
Well, to be honest, I don’t…I believe the ONLY person who can help you is YOU.
Other people, however, can provide support and guidance.
… And that’s where I come into the picture. ALL I have to offer you is my support and guidance.
Don't let this scare you off...I have LOTS to offer you...nothing you have to say will phase me.
I have worked with young adults on the margins of society, as a counsellor.
I have been a psychotherapist supporting women fleeing domestic violence.
I have also worked in homeless hostels for 10 years supporting using addicts and alcoholics.
I hold a masters degree in Integrative Arts Psychotherapy, which is psychotherapy using all the arts as well as talking.
I can tell you my story and what I did to recover; the mistakes I made, things I did that helped, and the places and people I had to put my trust and faith into.
I believe I have a purpose and that I’ve been kept alive for a reason. I believe, strongly that that reason is to help others.
